I've been waiting for this since the first time Leo announced it would be available in November. Better late then never.
I think I remember Leo saying it was going to debut in the beginning of 2006. Either way I'm glad that it is finally out.
I know I'm addicted. Have been following him since about 97. Met him twice - huge head (He surely isn't kidding when he says that).
The show was originally due to come out in mid-November. I think I remember Leo announcing it on C4H or TWiT sometime in September. I suppose they decided to wait until MWSF to debut. It's really produced well.
I fear that if Leo ever decides to retire, someone is going to have to start a 12-Step program.
I wish they would push out a h.264 version. The version they have now is very grainy in iTunes, but I suppose they don't want to be killed by bandwidth costs.
They say they are releasing a high quality version in bittorrent, but why not the same day?
Why why? Why must they shoot this in 1080P with a Cinealta F950? Does that seem odd to anyone else?
I would say....because they can. Because there is not enough HD content in the world. But mostly because they can.
Been waiting as long as you all for this to come out. Leo should start a TV station, him with his "friends" (the people that have been on TWIT or TechTV) they have the shows they just need to do it full time.
I believe the goal is to have a TWiT IPTV Network. I'm not sure how or if they will bring it all under one umbrella - what with them coming from different publishers and companies - and having different strategies.
For instance, Command N is independent for the most part, it could come under the TWiT umbrella, but that'd be up to the CN crew. Rev3 already has a "Network" - do they want to come under the TWiT umbrella, or would TWiT come under Rev3.
And DL.TV is completley owned by ZiffDavis (I believe) - so that is not likely going to join anything they conjour up. Which sucks - because Patrick is so awesome.
I do completely think that - in spite of their huge successes individually - that if they were to create a TWiT Network and bring all the shows together under one roof - they would be even more successful. It would also likely open up a lot of doors sponsorship-wise. And if Leo is in charge, I doubt that any ads would truly ever hamper the experience.
Thoughts?
finally! i've been waiting for a while... leo and amber are great 8) i listen to twit and inside the net every week ;)
Didn't watch the show yet, but everything Leo and his gang are doing is great. Love the podcasts and can't wait for more video content. Wonder if Leo, DLTV, Rev 3, CommandN etc. have long term vision for a IPTV station? It would appear that they are all working towards that goal, promoting each others work, adding select new shows, etc.
P.S. AmberMac thanks for the invite to newsvine.
Where are they getting the money and studio space to do all this stuff?? I like Twit because there's no corporate censoring going on, if they start taking money/studio space from G4 or whoever then certainly that outfit will want some creative control.
I thought it was the website you referred to in the title...man...that coming soon has been up forever.
I believe most of, if not all of, it is covered by or through pixel corps volunteers.
Who knows when www.macbreak.com will be updated. Amber is the web genius.
I hear you about the addiction, the only reason I still have digital cable is for CFH. I find that i barely have time to watch it with all the podcasts now.
I do love the content though, the only problem is that with all the mac stuff that is talked about, i am going to have to pick one up so i can reap the benefits of a lot of the casts they are doing.
I liked the show... but to tell you the truth, the camera work on this first episode was far from stellar.
It was a "camera shake" marathon. :-/
I'm sure the camera shake problem will go away in future episodes, as it will likely be more of a production. I mean it was just them walking around talking to people at an expo, its bound to be a bit less-than-stable. I doubt that Pixel Corps has those stabilizing cameras .... yet.
Great podcast as usual, Leo and Amber have really raised the bar on podcasts.
Thanks for the Newsvine invite Amber, your awsome.
